Horror Movies For October #14

Today we go to the UK where Elizabeth Taylor takes us for a very cool ride in 1973’s Brian G. Hutton‘s “Night Watch” a “Rear Window” meets “Psycho” mash. Taylor plays a woman who had recently suffered a breakdown, witnessing a murder in the abandoned house next door, yet when investigated the crime seems to have never happened. Rounding out the great cast is Laurence Harvey as her husband and Billie Whitelaw (The Omen) as their family friend. It’s a typical, yet fun thriller until the end, when the final scenes become twisted and horrific.

Peace Skip,   Thank you.   I haven’t seen this one in 40 years …   Mr. Harvey was superb in this film and in many of his others at portraying a man in suffering mode.   The cast’s ensemble work is excellent and the ending’s twist is a neat “change-up pitch,” to borrow a sporting metaphor.   Cordially,   Che!   P.S.   This emissive is out of order because I discovered it languishing in my drafts folder.
